What is a let in tennis?

In tennis, a "let" occurs when a serve hits the net cord but lands in the correct service court. If this happens, the server is allowed to serve again without penalty. The let is considered a neutral serve, and it does not count as a fault or a double fault. Both the server and the receiver must be ready for the next serve after a let is called. Let serves can be frustrating for both players as it interrupts the flow of the game, but it is an accepted part of the sport.
